Google Inc and Samsung Electronics Co have unveiled their new mobile phone facial recognition software which provide enhanced security and photo sorting. The idea is to take Apple's iPhone head-on.
Accoring to Matias Durate, Senior Director, Google Inc., the Samsung Galaxy Nexus is driven by Ice Cream Sandwich, the latest version of Google's Android software.
According to Kang Yoon Hum, a Seoul-based analyst at NH Investment & Securities Co "In terms of technology and functionality, it's hard to find a big difference between Android and iOS anymore."
The sales of Samsung Galaxy Nexus will commence next month. The price of Nexus is yet to be announced.
Apple's iPhone 4S sold more than 4 million units in just three days last week; the inclusion of voice-recognition in Apple's iOS is considered to be substantially responsible for the record sales. The Samsung Galaxy Nexus is perceived as a calculated response to Apple's innovations in iPhone 4S in the ongoing battle to control the mobile phone market said to be worth $207 billion.
