West Bengal Is Now Paschimbanga

Today at all-party meeting the West Bengal government and the opposition parties unanimously decided to rename West Bengal as Paschimbanga. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Partha Chatterjee informed media that Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee suggested the new name and party cut all across supported the same.

"It has been unanimously decided that state's new name will be Paschimbanga from now in all languages," Partha Chatterjee said. "We wanted a change in the name of the state to get the administrative advantage," he adds.

The all party meeting was attended by Trinamool Congress, Congress, SUCI(C), CPI-M, CPI, RSP, Forward Bloc, GJM and other small parties.
