James Patterson Is World's Highest Paid Author

Author James Patterson becomes this year’s highest paid author in the world with earnings of $84 million.
Patterson, 64, is a children books writer and in his spare time he loves to write online movie reviews.

Two years back he signed a path-breaking deal with publishing house Hachette for a 17-book series worth $150 million. He sold over 10 million books last year and Amazon reported his Kindle sales passing one million too.

About 20 of Patterson’s titles were on last year's bestseller lists and his forthcoming list includes "Kill Me If You Can" this month, "Daniel X" next, then "Christmas Wedding" in October, followed by "Kill Alex Cross" in November, "Witch and Wizard" for December and "Private 1 Suspect" to start the new year.

JK Rowling surprisingly stands in 13th position at this year’s list of the highest-paid authors. Ken Follett is at No.11. The list dominates by American authors.
