Sony Ericsson Q2 results shows €50 million loss

Sony Ericsson releases their Q2 results and it has recored a loss of €50 million in this quarter. The company is still not completely recovered from Japan tsunami crisis and hits badly to its supply chain. However the revenue has increased at €1,193 million in Q2 against last year's revenue of €1,145 million.

The management of Sony Ericsson has assured the investors and consumers that though the result is looking not so good in the second quarter, they are sure of bouncing back in the third quarter.

For the April-June period Sony Ericsson had sold 7.6 million handsets, which is 31% lower than the last year. However, the sale of Android-running smartphones by Sony Ericsson has increased by 150%.

Now Sony Ericsson management are focusing more on smartphone shipping so that they can winning back the ground. Currently 70% of Sony Erricsson’s sales depends on Smartphone shipping.
