According to the latest grapevine, the dual-core Apple A5 chip going into iPhone 5 is causing the phone to get overheated. As a result, Apple is said to have deferred launching iPhone 5 till the problem is successfully and satisfactorily resolved.
The iPhone 5 is said to be much slimmer than iPhone 4. The consequent closer packing of the components, coupled with the fact that the A5 is a dual-core chip and is thus prone to generate more heat than the earlier iPhones, is believed to have made the task of eliminating the overheating a daunting task.
But, given the expertise of Apple to find elegant solutions to tricky problems, it is perhaps going to be a mere question of time before the problem is resolved.
Pending that, Steve Jobs seems to be in no mood to scald his hands with a hastily released iPhone 5.
