Yamaha recently launched bikes like FZ and SZ series in India and the results are there for everyone to see. Unique marketing and promotion initiatives also helped Yamaha India to register a net profit in May. Yamaha Motor's Indian subsidiary Yamaha Motor India reported a domestic sales growth of 59 percent in May 2011 when compared to May 2010.
The overall sales, including exports, grew by 55 percent and stood at 38,812 units for the month compared to 25,033 units in May 2010. In May, the company exported 10,853 units with a growth of 46.28 percent as against 7,419 units than the last year.
"India Yamaha Motor has registered a growth of 58.7 percent in its domestic market for May 2011, with a sale of 27,959 units as compared to 17,614 units sold last year," the company said in a statement.
Mr. Hiroyuki Suzuki, Chief Executive Officer and managing Director, Yamaha Motor India, said: "Our recently launched FZ series has got a great response and it's helping us equally in boosting our sales in their respective segments."
