Refuting HTC’s claims that the HTC Sensation has a true unibody design and does not suffer from the so called "death grip" as the iPhone 4 does, Nordic Hardware's tests proves that HTC’s claims are wrong and that it does suffer from the same problem as iPhone 4 and that it also affects the Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity of the phone.
Nordic Hardware said that the problem is with the back cover of HTC Sensation. The Sensation does not have a true unibody; it has a large removable battery cover which is mostly made of metal and has plastic areas that work as antennae. If one places any protective cover on the Sensation or covers it with one's hand thus physically blocking the antennae, there will be a substantial drop in the performance of the radio units within the phone, particularly of the Bluetooth and Wi-Fi radios.
Keeping the HTC Senasation flat or in landscape mode makes the Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity weaker because the signal is not received well enough. The problem may not be there when the device is held normally in portrait mode.
